Since its founding in 1670, Charleston is a vibrant area that has played an important role in America’s history. The city is both an historic attraction and a center of commerce. And now Charleston boasts seasonal cruise ship departures as well. The Passenger Cruise Port is right at the foot of Market Street. You can literally park and sail from a page in history!
Most major areas of interest are within walking distance of the cruise port. The Visitor’s Center can provide maps of the downtown area. There are also many tours available ranging from Civil War Landmarks to exotic gardens. From the Market, 45 minute carriage rides provide a great overview of the city
